We are a busy, well-loved GP clinic in the heart of Altona North and we are looking for an Assistant Practice Manager to help our Practice Manager run it well. This is a hands‑on support role in a clinic where the team genuinely cares and the work you do each day actually means something.

Our GPs are experienced, our admin team is dedicated, and the culture we are building here is something we protect. We want an Assistant Practice Manager who will help protect it too.

The Role

You will work closely with our Practice Manager across the day‑to‑day running of the clinic, while supporting the reception team. You will step in and cover the Practice Manager's responsibilities when they are away, so this role suits someone who wants real exposure to practice management.

What You'll Do

Support day‑to‑day operations, keeping systems and processes running smoothly

Assist with rostering, team coordination and support

Lead the reception team

Support compliance and accreditation requirements,



keeping records and processes up to date

Act as a point of contact for GPs, staff and patients, keeping communication clear and consistent

Step into the Practice Manager's role during leave or absence, keeping the clinic on track

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who fits the way we work. You will need:

Experience in a GP or primary healthcare practice, ideally in an administrative or supervisory role

Exposure to medical billing

An interest in developing budgeting and financial reporting skills

Strong communication skills, comfortable talking with GPs, staff and patients

A solutions mindset, someone who sees a problem and fixes it, rather than escalates it

A real appreciation for what it means to work in a community‑based, people‑first setting

A multi‑tasker who is organised under pressure
