Palisades is working with a Federal Government client to recruit an experienced APS6 Clinician to support the delivery of critical mental health services for Australians and their families.

About the Role

n

As a Clinician, you will provide telephone-based mental health services including intake, assessment, triage, risk management, brief interventions, and referrals to appropriate support services.

n

Working within a national service delivery team, you will engage with clients experiencing a broad range of mental health and wellbeing concerns, ensuring timely access to support and care.

n

This role operates within a structured clinical governance framework and offers ongoing professional development, coaching, and clinical supervision.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Conduct client intake, assessment and triage consultations
n
- Complete clinical risk and safety assessments
n
- Provide brief evidence-based interventions and counselling support
n
- Deliver crisis response and risk management where required
n
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external support services
n
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
n
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
n
- Adhere to professional, ethical and legislative requirements
n

About You

n

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

n

n
- Experience working within mental health, counselling, psychology, social work or related clinical settings
n




- Solid risk assessment and crisis intervention capabilities
n
- Experience supporting clients experiencing complex or acute mental health concerns
n
- Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
n
- High-level clinical judgement and decision-making ability
n
- Strong documentation and case management skills
n
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
n
- A trauma-informed and client-centred approach to care
n

n

Highly Regarded Experience

n

n
- Telephone-based counselling or telehealth services
n
- Intake and triage environments
n
- Crisis support services
n
- Community mental health programs
n
- Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
n
- Veteran, emergency services, defence or trauma-informed practice
n

Mandatory Requirements

n

Applicants must hold one of the following:

n

n
- Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse; OR
n
- Qualification in Social Work with current AASW membership; OR
n
- Master's level Counselling qualification with PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor registration or ACA Level 3/4 registration.
n

n

Additionally, applicants must:

- Be an Australian Citizen
n
- Hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children Check and/or Working with Vulnerable People registration
n
- Be willing and eligible to obtain a Federal Government Baseline Security Clearance
n
