The Surgical Fellow will be involved in all aspects of clinical care of patients of the Gold Coast Health and Hospital Service.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Fellow (Bariatric and General Surgery) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will
n
n
- Manage Acute admission, Inpatient care, Outpatients clinical, inter-disciplinary consultant and clinical handover
n
- Advocate for the patient which includes protecting the patient, being the patient's voice and provision of quality care
n
- Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of Junior medical staff
n
- Work within and support the multi-disciplinary clinical team
n
n
About you
n
To be successful in this position you will require:
n
n
- Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
n
- AHPRA Registration
n
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in general surgery (or equivalent overseas qualification) and be eligible for medical registration in Australia
n
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
n
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
n
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
n
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $88.41 - $97.43 per hour
