We're exclusively partnering with a small energy retailer on the delivery of a billing platform migration.

This role is focused on running that migration end-to-end, from planning and vendor coordination through to data migration, testing and cutover. You'll be the project manager accountable for delivery, working alongside internal operations, technology and the implementation partner.

Billing sits at the centre of how a retailer runs, so this is high-visibility work across the whole business. Alongside the technical delivery you'll be across customer data, market processes and regulatory obligations.

n

This is a role for someone mid-level who has worked in a utility billing setting and understands what makes these projects difficult. Having been close to a migration of this kind matters more here than having run one on your own.

Key responsibilities

- Own delivery of the billing platform migration from planning through to cutover and stabilisation
n
- Manage the implementation partner and vendors, holding them to scope, timeframes and quality
n
- Coordinate data migration, cleansing and reconciliation activity with internal teams
n
- Plan and drive testing, including UAT, with business and operational stakeholders
n
- Track risks, issues, dependencies and decisions, with clear and practical reporting
n
- Work with operations, customer service and finance to prepare the business for the change
n




- Manage cutover planning, go-live readiness and post-implementation support arrangements
n
- Ensure regulatory and market obligations are accounted for throughout delivery
n

About you

- Takes ownership and drives delivery without needing to be chased
n
- Comfortable in a small business where you'll be doing the detail yourself
n
- Strong communicator, able to translate between technical teams, vendors and operational staff
n
- Practical and pragmatic, with structure proportionate to the work
n
- Calm under pressure and willing to hold vendors to account
n
- Escalates early rather than letting problems build
n
- Energy or utilities experience, with exposure to billing (non-negotiable)
n
- Proven delivery of system implementations or migrations end-to-end
n
- Experience managing external implementation partners through delivery
n
- Solid understanding of data migration, testing and cutover activity
n
- Experience working closely with operational and customer-facing stakeholders
n
