The Opportunity

n

As a result of several new, exciting projects underway, we are looking to grow our team, and are seeking an experienced Senior Developer, Applications to join us in our Newcastle Office.

n

This is a hands-on development role focused on designing and building high-quality software solutions while strengthening the technical capability of the team.

n

You will remain actively involved in software development while contributing to solution architecture, technical decisions, engineering standards, mentoring and code reviews.

n

The role will add depth and experience in solution design, .NET development, APIs, Azure and application modernisation.

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

n




- Design, develop and support business-critical applications using .NET and C#
n
- Design and document application and integration solutions from high-level architecture through to detailed implementation
n
- Design and build secure, scalable REST APIs, considering contract design, consistency, versioning and maintainability
n
- Deliver application solutions using Microsoft Azure, including API Management, Key Vault, Storage, App Services and container hosting
n
- Help modernise existing and monolithic applications into more modular, loosely coupled services where appropriate
n
- Design secure applications using appropriate authentication, authorisation and secure coding practices
n
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
n
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical decision-making and code reviews
n
- Mentor developers and promote engineering standards, reusable patterns and knowledge sharing
n
- Work closely with Business Analysts, DevOps and other technology teams
n
- Monitor and optimise applications using logging and application monitoring tools
n
- Investigate complex production issues and implement sustainable solutions
n
- Support application deployments and provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support as required
n

What We're Looking For

n

n




- 5+ years' software development experience with strong hands-on coding capability
n
- Strong .NET and C# development experience
n
- Solid SQL and relational database design experience
n
- Practical experience delivering applications within Microsoft Azure
n
- Strong understanding of REST API design and enterprise integration patterns
n
- Experience designing secure, maintainable and scalable software solutions
n
- Experience working with or modernising large or monolithic applications
n
- Experience with modern source control and CI/CD practices
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
- Comfortable mentoring others while remaining an active software developer
n
