Our client is a growing Australian Managed Service Provider (MSP) looking for an experienced Level 3 Engineer with a strong networking and networking fundamentals background to join their Technical Support team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with enterprise clients, and acting as the senior escalation point within a service desk workplace.
Work arrangement: Hybrid working; 2–3 days per week in the office across the North Sydney office and Barangaroo Sydney CBD client site
Role type: Expansion role supporting a newly acquired enterprise client
About the role
You'll take ownership of complex Level 3 networking and infrastructure incidents, working closely with clients, vendors and internal technical teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver long-term solutions.
You'll also provide technical guidance and mentoring to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers, contribute to infrastructure upgrades and network projects, and perform root-cause analysis on recurring technical issues.
- Strong hands-on networking experience & networking fundamentals experience across Cisco, Meraki and/or Aruba
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN and VPN
- Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls
- Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory and Windows Server
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and work independently
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who can go beyond traditional desktop support, confidently diagnose complex networking and infrastructure issues, communicate clearly with clients, and take ownership of incidents through to resolution.
Australian work rights are preferred, although sponsorship may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
Technical interview with the Technical Leadership team, including a networking assessment covering analysis, troubleshooting and network diagrams
Senior Leadership interview, likely with one of the company's Directors
Applicants must have full Australian working rights.
