We are partnering with a highly regarded local government organisation in Sydney's rapidly growing South West to recruit an experienced Traffic Engineer for an initial 12-month contract.

Working alongside transport planners, engineers, government stakeholders and the local community, you will play a key role in shaping sustainable transport outcomes and delivering projects that have a direct impact on residents.

The Opportunity In this role, you will:
n

- Assess and recommend traffic infrastructure improvements including intersections, roads, cycleways and pedestrian facilities.
n
- Provide technical advice on traffic engineering matters for infrastructure projects and development proposals.
n
- Coordinate and contribute to traffic studies, assessments and transport planning initiatives.
n
- Prepare reports and recommendations for internal committees and stakeholders.
n
- Manage traffic-related projects from planning through to implementation.
n
- Liaise with government agencies, consultants, developers and community stakeholders.
n
- Support road safety initiatives and transport network improvements.
n
- Assist with traffic management considerations for community events and infrastructure projects.

About You
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
- Degree qualifications in Traffic Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated experience in traffic and transport engineering within local government, consulting or infrastructure environments.
n
- Strong understanding of traffic management principles, legislation, standards and industry best practice.
n
- Experience preparing technical reports and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
n
- A current Australian Driver's License.

- Experience with traffic modelling and transport analysis software.

- Knowledge of NSW traffic regulations and approval processes.

- Road safety or traffic management accreditations.
