Field Worker - Nursery (Council Crew, $44.66 p/hr + super)

We are urgently seeking a Field Workerto join the Nursery team with a local government council crew based in Ipswich.

n

n
- 1 x position: 9-day fortnight (6:00am-3:00pm)
n

n

Duties include maintaining parks and sports fields, including:

n

n
- Propagating plants from seed, cuttings, division and other propagation methods.
n
- Growing and nurturing plant stock for Council landscaping and beautification programs.
n
- Preparing potting media and potting up seedlings and young plants.
n
- Watering, fertilising and monitoring plant health.
n
- Identifying and treating plant pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.
n
- Preparing plants for distribution to operational crews and projects.
n
- Following safety procedures and participating in toolbox talks
n

We are seeking:

n

n
- Previous experience in nursery production
n
- An appropriate level of physical fitness for the work being performed.
n
- Construction Industry White Card.
n
- Robust reliability,



work ethic and commitment to safety with proven ability to follow directions and work as part of a team (supported by references).
n

Due to the nature of the work, please note that any offer of employment will be subject to a pre-employment medical, which includes drug and alcohol screening, to ensure you are fit to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role, together with a criminal history check.Mandatory PPE requirements apply and you must be willing to be face-fit tested for a P2 disposable respirator prior to starting.
