Join a highly regarded, design-led property developer and builder delivering some of Southeast Queensland's most distinctive luxury residential projects.

Working closely with the Finance Manager and project delivery teams, you will help maintain accurate project financials, strengthen cost controls and deliver timely reporting across multiple construction and development entities.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant who enjoys being close to the projects, partnering with operational teams and seeing the direct commercial impact of their work.

The Opportunity
n
You will play an important role in keeping the financial operations behind each project accurate, consistent and commercially focused. Your responsibilities will include:
n
Project and Development Accounting
n
n
- Maintaining accurate job-cost accounting across construction and development projects
n
- Allocating costs correctly across projects, stages, cost codes and entities
n
- Monitoring project budgets against actual expenditure
n
- Assisting with cost-to-complete reporting and project cash-flow forecasting
n
- Supporting project teams with financial information and cost reviews
n
n
Financial Reporting and Month-End
n
n
- Supporting month-end close, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
n
- Preparing and maintaining balance-sheet reconciliations across WIP, creditors, retentions, GST and intercompany accounts
n
- Assisting with monthly management reports, project financial reports and development summaries
n
- Supporting GST, BAS,
audit and other statutory reporting requirements
n
- Liaising with external accountants regarding end-of-financial-year reporting and IAS returns
n
n
Project Costing and Accounts Payable
n
n
- Processing subcontractor, supplier and consultant invoices through Procore, Jobpac and MYOB or Xero
n
- Ensuring invoices are allocated to the correct entity, project, cost code and approval workflow
n
- Working closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators and suppliers to resolve invoice and coding queries
n
- Monitoring invoice approvals and following up to support timely payments
n
- Processing urgent and ad hoc payments in accordance with approved procedures
n
n
Systems and Process Improvement
n
n
- Maintaining accurate financial data across MYOB, Xero, Procore, Jobpac and related platforms
n
- Investigating and resolving system synchronisation or integration issues
n
- Supporting improvements to finance processes, controls and workflows
n
- Assisting with banking, credit applications, reporting preparation and project cost reviews
n
- Working collaboratively with the wider finance and project teams
n
n
About You
n
You will be a commercially minded and detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
- At least three years' experience as an Accountant or Assistant Accountant
n
- Experience within construction, property development or another project-based environment
n
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, accrual accounting and project financial controls
n
- Experience using Jobpac, which will be highly regarded
n
- Exposure to Procore, MYOB or Xero
n
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills
n
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
- CA or CPA qualifications, or current progress towards them, which will be advantageous
n
- Solid attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
n
- Confidence communicating with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, suppliers and external stakeholders
n
