Role Overview

n

OPUS TR is seeking a highly capable Control Systems Engineer to support major infrastructure projects across Australia. This role is suited to an engineer with strong technical depth in automation, SCADA, PLC/RTU programming, and control system integration across complex operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Develop, configure, and optimise PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, and DCS systems for industrial and renewable energy assets.
n
- Lead control system design, architecture development, and functional specification documentation.
n
- Perform logic development, testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities.
n
- Integrate control systems with plant equipment
n
- Conduct troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimisation for operational assets.
n
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, network requirements, cybersecurity frameworks, and project specifications.
n




- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, OEMs, and site personnel to ensure seamless project delivery.
n
- Provide technical input into tenders, feasibility studies, and design reviews.
n

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering.
n
- Proven experience in industrial automation or renewable energy control systems.
n
- Proficiency with major platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Rockwell.
n
- Robust understanding of communication protocols
n
- Experience with SCADA platforms (e.g., Citect, Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX, AVEVA).
n
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, SLDs, control philosophies, and functional specifications.
n
- Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and documentation skills.
n
- Experience delivering projects through design, testing, commissioning, and operational support phases.
