About the Role

n

We're looking for a detail-driven Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Melbourne, reporting to the Financial Manager. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely financial and management reporting while supporting month-end processes, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

n

This is a great opportunity for a CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) accountant looking to build their career in a fast-growing telco and cyber security group.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Financial Reporting & Month-End

n

n
- Support the month-end close process and prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, cashflow, and management reports
n
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset,



and depreciation schedules
n
- Maintain the general ledger and complete balance sheet, bank, and inter-company reconciliations
n
- Analyse financial results and investigate variances
n

n

Statutory Reporting & Audit

n

n
- Assist with half-year and year-end statutory accounts, including notes and disclosures
n
- Prepare audit documentation and respond to auditor queries
n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and reporting obligations
n

n

Tax & Compliance

n

n
- Prepare monthly BAS and annual FBT returns
n
- Assist with annual income tax return preparation
n
- Prepare quarterly ABS surveys and other compliance reporting requirements
n

n

Budgeting & Stakeholder Support

n

n
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
n
- Support finance team members and internal stakeholders with financial information and reporting
n
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance efficiencies
n

n

About You

n

Essential

n

n
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
n
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
n
- Experience with month-end processes, reconciliations, and statutory reporting
n
- High proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
n
- Strong time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
n
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills
n

- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
n
- Exposure to audit and tax compliance requirements
n
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems in a corporate environment
n
