Mayday Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Australia's leading funeral and memorial service providers to recruit a General Hand / Crematorium Operator at Morisset Pet Cremation Facility.

You don't need to have worked in the funeral industry before. We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable, respectful and comfortable working independently, with full training provided.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Operating cremation and ashes processing equipment in line with company procedures.
n
- Loading, operating and monitoring cremation equipment safely and efficiently.
n
- Assisting with receiving, unloading and managing pets within the facility.
n
- Carrying out cremation processes with care, precision and attention to detail.
n
- Preparing and processing ashes while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
n
- Completing accurate records, tagging and data entry throughout the cremation process.
n
- Supporting families attending private viewings when required.
n
- Assisting with the collection and delivery of pets and ashes where needed.
n
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and workplace safety.
n
- Conducting basic equipment maintenance and reporting faults or operational issues.
n
- Working closely with the wider operations team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
n
n
What We're Looking For

Funeral industry experience is not essential – your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are what matter most.

We're looking for someone who:
n
n
- Is respectful, compassionate and comfortable working in a sensitive workplace
n
- Is comfortable working in a high-temperature industrial environment.
n
- Is physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
n
- Has experience operating machinery, equipment or power tools.
n
- Is practical and hands-on, and isn't afraid to get stuck in
n
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work
n
- Has good computer skills and can confidently complete records and administration
n
- Is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of their day
n
- Is reliable, professional and able to maintain confidentiality
n
- Is comfortable working around deceased pets and understands the importance of treating them with dignity and care.
n
- Holds or is willing to obtain a Q Fever vaccination.
n
