Aluminium Welder - Dandenong South

$48-$50 per hour + Super | Full-Time Permanent Position

We are seeking an experienced Aluminium Welder to join a busy and growing manufacturing team based in Dandenong South, Melbourne. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality fabricated products in a fast-paced production environment where craftsmanship, safety, and attention to detail are highly valued.

About the Role

As an Aluminium Welder, you will be responsible for preparing, welding, and inspecting aluminium products to ensure they meet quality, durability, and finish standards. You will work closely with production and fabrication teams to deliver defect-free products on time.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare aluminium surfaces and components for welding.
- Read and interpret technical and workshop drawings.
- Measure, mark out, and set up materials to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Perform high-quality aluminium welding using a range of welding equipment and hand tools.
- Conduct visual and quality inspections throughout the fabrication and welding process.
- Identify and report quality issues to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment, grinders, saws, sanders, and associated tools.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements at all times.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous aluminium welding and/or metal fabrication experience.
- Experience working within manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, or production environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency with fabrication and metalworking tools, including welders, grinders, saws, and sanders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Understanding of metal preparation and fabrication techniques.
- A robust commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable attendance, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.





Preferred Qualifications

- Trade qualification such as:
- Boilermaker
- Certificate III or IV in Fabrication
- Metalwork qualification
- Or similar trade background

Experience Required

- Previous experience in aluminium welding within manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, transport, or engineering environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and workshop drawings.
- Experience using fabrication equipment including welders, grinders, saws, sanders, and finishing tools.
- Strong understanding of metal preparation and fabrication techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, defect-free welds.
- Good knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices within a workshop environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual and repetitive tasks.

Nice to Have

- Trade qualification such as Boilermaker, Certificate III/IV in Engineering Fabrication, Metal Fabrication, or similar.
- Experience welding aluminium products within heavy vehicle, transport, trailer, truck body, or manufacturing industries. (Preferred)
