Are you an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a busy, high-volume venue and knows how to deliver exceptional functions from planning through to execution? Hope Island Tavern is looking for a hands‐on Restaurant & Functions Manager to lead our restaurant operations and functions business. This is a key leadership role for someone who can balance a busy restaurant floor, functions and events, team leadership and commercial performance — while keeping the guest experience at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

- Reporting to the Venue Manager, you'll take ownership of restaurant operations and functions, including:
n
- Leading day-to-day restaurant operations in a high-volume environment
n
- Coaching, developing and motivating front-of-house teams
n
- Planning and executing functions and events from enquiry through to completion
n
- Creating and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
n
- Coordinating event requirements across kitchen, operations and other venue departments
n
- Delivering functions including corporate events, celebrations and community events
n
- Driving guest satisfaction, sales and operational performance
n
- Managing labour, productivity and profitability targets
n
- Maintaining strong operational, presentation and compliance standards
n
- Building relationships with guests, function clients and suppliers
n
- Working closely with the Venue Manager and broader leadership team

About You

n

n




- Experience as a Restaurant Manager, Functions Manager or senior hospitality leader
n
- Proven experience within a high-volume hospitality venue
n
- Strong functions and events experience
n
- Experience creating and working with BEOs
n
- Strong leadership and team development skills
n
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
n
- Commercial understanding across labour, costs and venue performance
n
- The ability to stay calm, organised and hands‐on when things get busy
n
- Availability across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
n
- Experience with iVvy, SevenRooms and large-scale food and beverage operations will be highly regarded
n
