An established open-cut coal operation in Queensland is seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent to lead its Geology and Survey teams while providing oversight across geological modelling, geotechnical risk and resource optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop the Geology and Survey teams.
n
- Oversee geological modelling, grade control and resource evaluation.
n
- Manage geotechnical risks with support from an RPEQ Geotechnical Engineer.
n
- Ensure accurate geological interpretation and resource understanding.
n
- Manage ROM reconciliation and coal quality outcomes.
n
- Provide geological and geotechnical input into mine planning and pit design.
n
- Support stockpile management and coal blending strategies.
n
- Maintain geological databases, models and technical systems.
n
- Drive continuous improvement across technical processes and reporting.
n

About You
n
n
- Degree-qualified in Geology, Mining Engineering,
Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Strong experience within open-cut coal mining operations.
n
- Experience across geological modelling, grade control, resource evaluation and coal quality.
n
- Familiarity with Vulcan or similar geological modelling software.
n
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams.
n
- Solid communication skills with the ability to work across Planning, Production, CHPP and other operational functions.
n
- A practical leadership style and good understanding of how the broader Technical Services functions work together.
n
