The Opportunity
n
We are seeking a Lawyer to join our respected Personal Injury team in our Melbourne office. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner looking to build their career across a broad range of personal injury matters while working alongside experienced and supportive practitioners.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Direct liaison with clients and providing accurate and timely advice
n
- Managing a diverse caseload of personal injury matters
n
- Preparing court documents, correspondence and settlement materials
n
- Attending court appearances, mediations, conciliations, conferences and settlement negotiations
n
- Conducting legal research and preparing advice
n
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
n
n
Successful candidates will have:
n
n
- A valid Victorian Practising Certificate
n
- A minimum of 2-5 years' PQE, ideally with experience in personal injury law
n
- Experience acting for plaintiff clients, defendant clients, or both, within personal injury
n
- Solid knowledge of personal injury legislation, procedures and dispute resolution processes
n
- Exceptional client care skills, with the ability to engage empathetically and sensitively with vulnerable clients
n
- Strong negotiation, mediation and advocacy skills
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
n
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and a busy caseload
n
- A blend of working in the office & remotely
