- Conduct formal consent interviews with donor families, ensuring clarity and respect
n
- Increase organ and tissue donation consent rates across Victoria
n
- Guide families through acute grief and bereavement while offering organ and tissue donation
n
- Deliver explicit, sensitive information about end-of-life processes to families
n
- Work closely with families and health services across Metropolitan Melbourne
n
- Lead sensitive conversations and obtain formal consent
n
- Provide ongoing support throughout the donation process
n
- Facilitate remembrance activities and provide supportive materials
n
- Identify, assess, and resolve problems with a solution-focused mindset
n
- Maintain detailed documentation and follow-up

Requirements

- Registered Nurse with Donation Specialist Nurse experience
n
- Current registration with AHPRA
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Critical Care Nursing
n
- Experience in grief and bereavement in a healthcare setting ideally
n
- Exceptional communication skills and empathy
n
- Emotional resilience and a calm, supportive approach
n
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally and compassionately
n
- Ability to work independently and identify, assess, and resolve problems
n
- Advanced negotiation skills
n
- Ability to communicate appropriately in time-critical circumstances
n




- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in documentation and follow-up
n
- Intermediate computer skills

- Current driver's licence
n
