Synergie Australia is seeking a Payroll Manager for a part time contract opportunity with a leading luxury hotel based in Southbank, Melbourne.
n
This is an exciting opportunity to join a renowned hospitality organisation and oversee payroll operations across multiple hotel locations. Working closely with the People & Culture team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while providing payroll support, reporting and guidance to managers and employees across the business.

- Pay: $50-$55 per hour + Super
n
- Term: 7-month fixed-term contract (October 2026 - May 2027)
n
- Location: Southbank, Melbourne (Onsite)
n
- Start: October 2026
n
n
What you will be required to do:
n
You will be responsible for managing payroll operations and ensuring compliance across a multi-site environment.
n
n
- Process accurate and timely fortnightly payrolls
n
- Ensure compliance with relevant Awards, payroll legislation and employment obligations
n
- Manage payroll records, reporting and payroll administration processes
n
- Provide payroll advice and support to managers and employees
n
- Monitor payroll-related benefits, deductions, allowances and leave entitlements
n
- Liaise with key stakeholders regarding employment changes and payroll matters
n
- Support payroll reporting, reconciliations and analysis
n
- Maintain payroll compliance and identify opportunities for process improvement
n
- Assist with WorkCover administration and associated payroll activities
n
n
To be successful in the role you will:
n
n
- Have demonstrated payroll management or senior payroll experience
n
- Possess strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Award interpretation
n
- Have experience processing payroll within a medium-to-large organisation
n
- Bring excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
n
- Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills
n
- Have advanced payroll systems and Microsoft Excel skills
n
- Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
n
- Be able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
n
n
Highly regarded:
n
n
- Experience within hospitality, tourism or multi-site organisations
n
- Exposure to Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA)
n
- Experience with payroll reporting and analysis
n
- WorkCover administration experience
n
- Experience managing complex payroll environments with multiple Awards
n
n
