Salary Range $136,828.52 (including EMCH allowance of 2.5%) per annum + 12% Super
n ADO + 5 Weeks Annual Leave + Qualification Allowance including option for a Novated Lease vehicle

We are seeking a vibrant positive nurse who can work independently and contribute to the strong team culture.

The position requires Maternal and Child Health Nurses with highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and a capacity to relate effectively to a diverse range of families, communities, and professionals in a constantly changing environment.
n
By joining the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health team you will be supported by the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Team Leader and a strong unit of professional staff including, Enhanced MCH nurses, a social worker, a family violence social worker and parent support worker.
n
This role will provide a focused and intensive level of support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families experiencing vulnerability, early parenting difficulties and children identified as being at risk of harm in outreach capacity.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Work collaboratively with other service providers such as Aboriginal community lead organisations, Child Protection, The Orange Door and family/community service organisations.
n
- Deliver the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health program within the guidelines and standards set by the Victorian Department of Health (Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program Guidelines, revised edition 2019).
n
- Assess the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and environmental health and wellbeing of individual children 0-3 years and their families.
n
- Work collaboratively with families to increase participation in universal and community-based services.

About you
n
To be successful in this role you will be able to satisfy the requirements to work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in Victoria and have:
n
n
- Strong understanding of family dynamics and family specific issues such as family violence, mental illness, trauma and drug and alcohol issues.
n
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and Midwife and able to satisfy the requirements to work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in Victoria.
n
- Experience in working in Maternal and Child Health and/or Enhanced Maternal and Child Health.
n
- Current Valid Victorian Drivers Licence. Nurses are required to have a current Victorian Drivers Licence and their own fully insured private motor vehicle to conduct their role as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
A travel allowance will be applied in accordance with the Melton City Council Enterprise Agreement No 10 2022.
