This is a coaching and leadership role for someone who is passionate about working with kids, developing other coaches and creating positive movement experiences.

As Head Coach, you'll play an important role in shaping the experience our students, families and coaching team have at TMC KIDS. You'll be a familiar and approachable presence in the gym, building positive relationships with our members and families while helping us continue to grow and develop our programs and coaching team.

Permanent Part-Time | Approx. 30 hours per week, with the opportunity to increase to full-time hours (up to 38 hours) for the right candidate | Tuesday-Saturday

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Coach TMC KIDS classes across a range of ages from 2-17
n
- Lead, support and develop our team of coaches
n
- Create and develop movement programs each term
n
- Run coach training and career development sessions
n
- Maintain a high standard of coaching across all classes
n
- Provide feedback, mentoring and support to coaches
n
- Manage the coaching roster and staff scheduling
n
- Organise covers and respond to day-to-day coaching needs
n
- Build positive relationships with our students, parents and wider TMC KIDS community
n
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with coaches, members and families
n




- Work closely with the Director to continue developing our programs, team and coaching standards
n

About you

n

We're looking for someone who:

n

n
- Has experience coaching or teaching children
n
- Is a confident and capable mover themselves
n
- Has experience in gymnastics, movement or a similar discipline
n
- Is enthusiastic, warm and confident when working with kids
n
- Is friendly and approachable and enjoys building relationships with families and members
n
- Enjoys leading and developing other coaches
n
- Is organised and comfortable taking responsibility
n
- Is a proactive problem solver who can take initiative
n
- Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
n
- Is open to feedback and keen to continue learning and developing
n

Gymnastics experience is highly regarded. Dance or other relevant movement experience is also beneficial. Training will be provided in the specific skills, progressions and programs we teach at TMC KIDS.

Qualifications

n

n
- Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent/relevant coaching qualification
n
- Current Working With Children Check
n
- Current First Aid/CPR
n

About TMC KIDS

TMC KIDS is a recreational movement gym for children and teens aged 2-17. Our programs combine gymnastics, strength, locomotion, acrobatics and movement games in a fun, inclusive environment.

We're a small, supportive team that cares deeply about creating positive movement experiences for kids. This is not a competitive gymnastics environment. We focus on helping every child progress at their own level while building strength, confidence and a lifelong love of movement.

As part of the role, you'll also receive a complimentary TMC adult gym membership, giving you access to our adult classes to train and continue developing your own movement skills.
