About theSimpsonBarracks

n

Simpson Barracks is located at Yallambie (approx. 40 mins North-East of Melbourne CBD). Predominately a Forces Command training base supporting Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians & operators, electronic warfare systems), Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians) and Army Education Centre. The Army base services approximately 6000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7. The health centre also provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services.



Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This is a full time bench position that involves shift work, weekend work and travel across various metro and regional bases.

What you'll do

n

n
- Deliverhighqualityprimaryhealthcare, including health assessmentsandvaccinations ormonitorand manage patients in a lowdependency ward setting
n
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, includinggeneral practitioners, physios, mental healthclinicians, and dental professionals
n
- Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care
n

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as aRegistered Nurse
n
- MinimumoneyearRegisteredNurseexperience inacute care, primary healthcareor military setting
n
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
n
- Australian Citizenshiprequired(Baseline Security Clearance)
n
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patientcentred care
n
- Ability to work a 24/7 roster
n
- This role is primarily Monday to Sunday (AM, PM and Night Shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
