Permacast is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to take ownership of our AP function. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you'll manage the full payables cycle for a busy precast manufacturing operation — high volume, plenty of suppliers, and month‐ends that matter.

This suits someone who works accurately under pressure, chases down discrepancies rather than letting them sit, and builds solid working relationships with suppliers.

- $70,000 – $85,000 + superannuation, depending on experience

- 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around start and finish times

Key responsibilities
n
n
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable — invoice checking, coding, approvals and payment
n
- Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc payment runs
n
- Complete weekly supplier reconciliations and creditor payment reports
n
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, disputes and outstanding balances
n
- Onboard new suppliers, ensuring documentation is complete and correctly entered in the ERP
n
- Review and process employee expense claims in line with company policy,
escalating high-value or unusual items to the Financial Controller
n
- Respond to AP queries from internal and external stakeholders
n
- Assist with month-end and year-end close
n
- Work with the finance team to improve processes and data accuracy

What're looking for
n
n
- Minimum 2 years' experience in accounts payable, ideally in manufacturing or construction
n
- Proven experience running end-to-end AP processes
n
- Experience with ERP and AP systems (Pronto highly regarded)
n
- Sound understanding of AP processes, internal controls and basic accounting principles
n
- Robust attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
n
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume environment
n
- Confident communicator who can hold a supplier relationship and a difficult conversation
n
- Proficient in Excel and Word with solid data entry skills
n
- High level of integrity and accountability
n
- Experience in procurement or purchasing
n
- Exposure to AP process improvement or automation
