Technical Sales Engineer - Mining & Materials Handling

NEPEAN Conveyors are now one of Australia's most successful suppliers of large scale, fully integrated, mining conveyor projects. We offer complete, engineered turn-key conveying and materials handling solutions for surface, underground and hard rock mining, port facilities and process plants.

To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer/Estimator to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design and manufacturing facilities in either Gulgong, or Unanderra NSW.

In this facility we work within a team of project managers, engineers, designers and fabricators on projects large and small.

n

Daily duties will typically include:

n

n
- Maintain and develop close relationships with key accounts and ensure their requirements are being made by the company's products where possible
n
- Assist in developing new and strategic technical solutions at the tender stage to ensure fast turnaround
n
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication and machining jobs
n
- Liaise with workshop supervisors, engineers, and suppliers
n
- Source and obtain quotes for materials and subcontract work
n
- Prepare quotations and tender submissions
n
- Analyse project risks and profitability
n
- Achieve sales targets of allocated territory/product by developing new business with existing and potential clients
n
- Assist in the determination of the overall sales budget and strategy
n




- Actively monitor market trends through personal contact with clients and suppliers and attendance at industry association meetings and seminars
n
- Recommend variations in product, formulation or package design and participate in regular production and sales meetings to communicate field intelligence
n
- Participate in setting strategies and determining business plans related to assigned products or customers
n
- Appraise current and planned customer needs and advise on the application of company products or services to customer requirements
n
- Estimate cost of supplying NEPEAN Conveyors core products and systems to client
n
- Run sales level conveyor calculations to assist in upfront selection of equipment
n

The Right Person

n

The ideal candidate for this position would have:

n

n
- Tertiary and/or trade qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
n
- Strong understanding of heavy industry fabrications, machining and fitting processes
n
- People with previous experience mining experience (Preferable)
n
- Sound conveyor knowledge
n
- Sound knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting packages (Advantageous).
n
- Outstanding attention to detail
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
n
