An established Brisbane electrical manufacturer is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to take ownership of tenders and quotations across custom-built switchboards, control panels and industrial electrical projects.

n

This is not general construction estimating.

n

You will work directly with electrical drawings, switchgear, technical specifications, suppliers, engineers and the production team to develop accurate, commercially competitive proposals.

n

If you understand how switchboards are designed, priced and built, this is an prospect to use that knowledge in a position where your work has a direct impact on the projects the business wins.

The opportunity

n

You will manage estimates from the initial enquiry through to handover, including:

n

n
- Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
n
- Preparing detailed labour, material and subcontractor estimates.
n
- Completing electrical take-offs and bills of materials.
n
- Pricing custom LV switchboards, control panels and related electrical systems.
n
- Obtaining and negotiating supplier pricing.
n
- Identifying project risks, exclusions, assumptions and commercial opportunities.
n
- Preparing professional tenders and client quotations.
n
- Clarifying technical requirements with clients, builders and contractors.
n
- Working directly with engineering and production teams.
n
- Handing successful tenders over to procurement and project delivery.
n




- Attending occasional site visits and pre-tender meetings.
n

What will make you successful

n

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:

n

n
- Switchboard or electrical estimating.
n
- LV switchboards, MCCs, distribution boards or control panels.
n
- Reading electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and technical specifications.
n
- Electrical take-offs, bills of materials and supplier pricing.
n
- Preparing accurate commercial quotations and tenders.
n
- Working with switchgear manufacturers and electrical suppliers.
n

n

You may come from an electrical trade, switchboard building, electrical engineering or technical estimating background. Experience with AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, Excel, SimPRO, CABSY or similar software would be highly regarded.
