Job Description

- This is a contract position that requires only 2 hours per fortnight, specifically on from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Are you available on the said schedule and ok with the work hours?

Youngster.co is a social enterprise startup with a purpose. We believe in the power of community and technology to bridge generational gaps.

The Youngster.co program brings young people and seniors together in shopping centres, libraries, community centres, and other locations for intergenerational tech help sessions. Youngsters provide personalised tech help for seniors, including how to use their phone, do video calls, connect on social media, etc.

About the Candidate

- Aged 18 or over
- Valid National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Located within 10-15 km of Willows Shopping Centre in Townsville, QLD or 10-15 km of North Rocks Shopping Centre in North Rocks, NSW?
- Commitment to Youngster.co's mission of intergenerational connection

Work Environment

- Willows Shopping Centre (13 Hervey Range Rd, Thuringowa Central QLD 4810, Australia) Tuesdays, fortnightly from 10AM-12PM
- North Rocks Shopping Centre (Rocks Rd, North Rocks NSW 2151, Australia) Thursdays, fortnightly from 10AM-12PM

What You'll Do





- Sit alongside seniors and help them with everyday tech questions from smartphones, tablets, video calls, social media, and more
- Build genuine rapport and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where seniors feel comfortable and confident
- Explain things in simple, friendly language - no tech jargon or complex tech concepts
- Share ideas and feedback to help us keep improving our sessions

Who We're Looking For

This role is first and foremost for people who are:

- Naturally warm, social, and patient
- Genuinely interested in older people's stories, experiences, and lives
- Knowledgeable with everyday tech (smartphones, tablets, basic computers) and familiar with Android or iOS systems
- Comfortable communicating with other people, This isn't just a job, it's a chance to make a real difference in someone's week. Our Youngsters often tell us the relationships they build with seniors are the most rewarding part of the role.
