Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead - Data Engineering to join a major enterprise data transformation and lead the technical delivery of two strategic data initiatives.

This is a hands-on Technical Lead role for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology while taking ownership of solution design, technical direction and engineering delivery.

n

You'll work across a modern AWS and Databricks environment, partnering with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise data engineering solutions.
n
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
n
- Design scalable and secure data solutions using Databricks and AWS.
n
- Remain hands-on across development, implementation and code reviews.
n
- Design and deliver modern data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
n
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to Data Engineers.
n
- Work closely with architecture, business and delivery stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
n




- Ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture, security and data governance standards.
n
- Support testing, deployment and production implementation.
n

Requirements

n

n
- Strong experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Data Engineer within complex enterprise environments.
n
- Deep hands-on Databricks experience is essential.
n
- Experience with some of the following Databricks capabilities - must have at least 2 to 3 things:n n
- Databricks Genie
n
- Semantic modelling
n
- Managed MCP Servers
n
- Vector Stores / Vector Search indexes
n
- Lakebase
n

n
- Strong AWS data engineering experience, ideally across S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR or related services.
n
- Solid development skills across Python, SQL and/or Spark.
n
- Proven experience designing modern data platforms, pipelines and scalable data architectures.
n
- Experience producing detailed LLDs and technical specifications.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
n
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
