Position Summary

n

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and support of enterprise network and infrastructure services across the organisation's IT and OT environments. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with technical leadership, ensuring network, cloud connectivity and security infrastructure remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

Key Accountabilities

n

n
- Design, implement, maintain and support enterprise network and infrastructure services, including LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, firewalls, internet and cloud connectivity.
n
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity and security, and resolve complex incidents through effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
n
- Support Microsoft Azure networking and connectivity across cloud and hosted environments.
n
- Deliver infrastructure and network projects, technology upgrades and lifecycle activities.
n
- Maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, diagrams and operational procedures.
n
- Support network security, segmentation, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery and business continuity across IT and OT environments.
n
- Contribute to cybersecurity and compliance requirements, including Essential Eight, AESCSF, ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST.
n
- Manage telecommunications providers, technology vendors and managed service partners.
n
- Identify and implement opportunities for standardisation,



automation, optimisation and continuous improvement.
n
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and knowledge sharing across the technology team.
n
- Participate in critical incident response and out-of-hours support when required.
n

- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking principles and technologies.
n
- Practical experience with switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, VPNs and network security.
n
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF and network segmentation.
n
- Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments and WAN connectivity.
n
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic operational environment.
n
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
n
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to reliable and secure business outcomes.

- Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto or equivalent technologies.

- Experience with SD-WAN and cloud networking.
n
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking and connectivity.
n
- Experience with industrial networking and OT environments.
n
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and secure infrastructure architecture.
n
- Experience with network monitoring, automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python or similar.
n
- Experience working in manufacturing or critical infrastructure environments.

Qualifications and Experience

n

Mandatory

n

n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
n
- Minimum 4 years' experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer or similar role.
n
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and networking across multiple locations.
n
- Experience with network security technologies, firewalls and secure remote access.
n
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and network issues.
n

Desirable

n

n
- Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4 / FCP - FortiGate Administrator, Palo Alto Networks PCNSA/PCNSE, Aruba ACSA/ACSP, Cisco Meraki CMNA/CMNO, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) or equivalent.

- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure networking environments.
n
- Experience working within critical infrastructure environments.
n
