About The Role

An exciting opportunity is available to lead the development of tram infrastructure programs within the Department. Reporting to the Director, Program Delivery, the Associate Director, Tram Program supports the delivery of tram infrastructure projects at a program-wide level, including developing projects for funding approval, program management, and the technical management and assurance of tram projects across the Department, the franchisee and other external stakeholders.

The role has a whole-of-program outcomes focus, overseeing a program management function that coordinates internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are appropriately governed within departmental and franchise requirements. It leads the development of business cases for tram projects, provides authoritative advice, and represents the State’s interests on tram infrastructure matters to support a safe, reliable and high-quality public transport system.

- Has demonstrated leadership in the oversight of programs,



who can lead, support and engage members of the team consistent with DTP’s cultural values
- Builds a culture of collaboration internally and externally, identifying and removing barriers and can negotiate successful project outcomes.
- Thinks critically, can identify and manage risks and can problem solve, working across government and at senior levels to develop and deliver sustainable solutions to complex problems within defined delivery timeframes
- Manages a range of complex, often competing stakeholder needs, facilitating cutting-edge solutions and negotiating at executive level.
- Leads governance of infrastructure projects and programs, ensuring robust decision-making, risk management and accountable delivery.
- Brings strong policy, project and technical expertise, developing far-reaching business cases and building trusted relationships with senior leaders across the sector.

Qualifications And Experience

You’ll bring:

- Demonstrated experience in the oversight, delivery and management of assets or projects in a public transport environment (mandatory).
- A relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
