What you can expect in a day in this role:
n
Working closely with the Head Chef and Hunter Street Precinct Executive Chef, you will play a key role in leading daily kitchen operations, developing your team, driving food quality standards, and contributing to the continued evolution of one of Hobart's leading waterfront dining destinations.
n
You'll gain exposure to a diverse operation including restaurant dining, lounge service, in-room dining, conferences and events, providing valuable experience across multiple hospitality formats.
n
Your key responsibilities will be:
n
n
- Supporting the Head Chef in leading day-to-day kitchen operations
n
- Leading service and food preparation across restaurant, hotel and event offerings
n
- Coaching, mentoring and developing kitchen team members
n
- Contributing to menu development, product sourcing and seasonal menu changes
n
- Supporting food cost, stock control and purchasing targets
n
- Maintaining food safety, WHS and operational standards
n
- Fostering a positive, respectful and high-performing kitchen culture
n
- Collaborating closely with front-of-house, events and hotel teams to deliver seamless service experiences
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or senior Chef de Partie in a quality restaurant or hotel environment
n
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for developing people
n
- Sound knowledge of food safety, stock control and kitchen operations
n
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced service environment
n
- A passion for Tasmanian produce and delivering exceptional guest experiences
n
