Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to support the implementation, sustainment, and enhancement of critical operational technology systems within a complex aviation workplace.

Working across aerodrome platforms and communications systems, you will apply systems engineering practices throughout the full lifecycle, including requirements, design, integration, testing, verification, validation, and ongoing operational support.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Deliver systems engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle
n
- Develop technical specifications, system requirements, designs, and engineering documentation
n
- Support the design, implementation, testing, integration, and sustainment of telecommunications and operational systems
n
- Investigate complex system issues and develop practical technical solutions
n
- Develop test plans and test cases and support verification and validation activities
n
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and maintainability
n
- Manage system configuration across hardware, software, firmware, and documentation
n
- Provide specialist technical advice to project and operational teams
n
- Work closely with engineering, security, architecture, project teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders
n




- Identify and manage system safety risks within a highly regulated environment
n

Key Requirements

n

n
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related discipline
n
- Strong experience applying Systems Engineering practices across design, verification, integration, and system management
n
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing reliable telecommunications systems
n
- Strong knowledge of analogue voice/audio and DC control and monitoring systems
n
- Experience with systems integration, testing, release and deployment, and configuration management
n
- Strong technical documentation skills, including system design and solution architecture documentation
n
- Demonstrated stakeholder and vendor management experience
n
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical issues
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Experience with real-time or distributed systems, message handling, and internet technologies
n
- Knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and associated security controls
n
- Awareness of DO-278A guidelines and software assurance practices
n
- Professional Engineer registration such as RPEQ
n
- Experience within aviation, Defence, transport, critical infrastructure, or other safety-critical environments
