Job Description
Where Sports Culture Meets the Classroom
n
Imagine a campus where the energy of game day and the rigor of great teaching live side by side — where your classroom conversations flow naturally into locker room mindset talks, and your students are chasing championships and college acceptance letters in the same breath. That's SPIRE Academy.
n
We're one of the fastest-growing sports academies in the country, and we're looking for a Graphic Design teacher who wants to turn student-athletes into visual storytellers and brand builders — designers who create impactful communication. If you love being around sports, thrive on hands-on and relevant learning, and want to influence the next generation of creative thinkers while elevating a dynamic brand, keep reading.
n
Who You'll Teach
n
Our students come from across the country and around the world — a genuinely international, diverse community of student-athletes with big goals in sport, school, and life. You'll get to bring global perspective into your lessons and learn as much from your students as they learn from you.
n
What You'll Actually Do
n
n
- Teach 2-3 sections of relevant, hands-on graphic design curriculum, focusing on design principles, industry-standard software, visual communication, and brand identity.
n
- Support marketing efforts by collaborating with the marketing team to develop clear, compelling visual collateral for external campaigns, events, and partnerships.
n
- Create internal communication materials, presentations, and digital assets that reinforce the SPIRE brand identity and engage the academy community.
n
- Mentor as an Academic Advisor for a group of students, serving as their go-to point of contact and family liaison.
n
- Collaborate across departments — Sports Mindset, Student Life, Corporate Partnerships, Coaching Staff, and Event Management — to build interdisciplinary, real-world learning experiences.
n
- Partner directly with coaches to connect classroom learning to what's happening on the field, court, or ice, finding opportunities for design to tell the story of athletic achievement.
n
- Track and share student growth using real data, keeping parents, faculty, and coaches in the loop.
n
- Lead a special interest or club activity each semester — think a design club, digital media group, or a student-led branding project — bring a passion project to life.
n
- Support Study Table rotations and the seminar curriculum.
n
- Show up at athletic events and residential life activities as a positive, engaged role model.
n
- Get certified to drive students to school-related activities (we'll help you get there).
n
n
Why This Role Is Different
n
n
- Design for Impact. You'll not only teach design principles but also see your students' and your own work directly contribute to the visible identity and messaging of a growing sports academy,
elevating the SPIRE brand within the Academy and with public communications.
n
- Growth, fast. SPIRE is expanding, and that means real opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and career exploration across education, athletics, and organizational leadership.
n
- A team, not a silo. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with coaches, mindset coaches, and student life staff — true interdisciplinary collaboration, not just faculty meetings.
n
- Community that shows up. Whether it's a big game or a study table session, you'll be part of a culture that shows up for its students everywhere they are.
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
n
- Are credentialed educators (but we are able to hire the right person with a Master's Degree in graphic design or similar).
n
- Build genuine, trust-based relationships with students.
n
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction.
n
- Hold students accountable to academic and character standards.
n
- Want to guide student-athletes toward success in sport, school, leadership, and life.
n
- Are proactive, visible, and energized by being part of a students' daily journey.
n
- Are ready to adhere to the policies in our Faculty/Staff Handbook and support the school's mission and leadership — and to pitch in wherever the Head of School needs support.
n
n
If you're ready to teach where sports and design collide, helping student-athletes develop essential creative skills and elevate a agile brand — and to help build one of the fastest-growing sports academies in the country — we want to hear from you.
