La Playa is a busy beachfront casual dining restaurant overlooking Surfers Paradise.

Operating across breakfast, lunch and dinner, we are a fast-paced venue with a strong focus on service, consistency and creating a great experience for every customer.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join a focused, established team and take an active role in leading the floor.

About the role

This is a hands-on, floor-focused position for someone who enjoys being in the middle of service, leading from the front and keeping standards high.

You will work closely with the management team to run busy services, support and develop staff, maintain team morale, oversee ordering and ensure the venue operates smoothly throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

Manage the floor through busy service periods

Lead by example and support the FOH team

Train, coach and develop staff

Maintain solid service standards and team morale





Assist with ordering and stock requirements

Resolve issues quickly, calmly and professionally

Maintain presentation, compliance and operational standards

Ensure every customer receives a consistently strong experience

About you

Proven Assistant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor or Restaurant Manager experience

Strong experience managing a busy restaurant floor

Fast mover who remains calm under pressure

Confident problem solver with initiative

Hands-on leadership style

Strong communication and people-management skills

High standards around service, presentation and customer experience

Reliable, organised and accountable

Genuine hospitality mindset and willingness to contribute to the team
