About The Role

n

Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Southbank VIC. They are currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to come in and join them on a 3-6 month temp contract with possible extensions.

n

Requirements for this role include:

n

n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Accounting OR Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant.
n
- Experience in business planning, financial reporting, budget development and financial analysis.
n
- Well-developed excel skills including financial modelling and performing scenario analysis.
n
- Previous government experience (Highly regarded)
n

Key responsibilities include:

n

n
- Strategic Finance Business Partnering: Partner with client groups and leadership to provide commercial advice, guidance, and financial direction that aligns operational decisions with broader strategic goals.
n
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning: Facilitate end-to-end budgeting and forecasting processes, maintain the levy model, and ensure accurate financial planning.
n
- Statutory & Corporate Reporting: Drive key financial reporting initiatives, including monthly internal reporting, statutory reporting to DEECA,



input into the Corporate Plan, and ad-hoc analysis.
n
- Commercial Analysis & Variance Insights: Analyse monthly financial performance against budgets and forecasts, delivering actionable insights to support informed business decision-making.
n
- Financial Health & Risk Oversight: Monitor organisational financial health, identify emerging business risks, and proactively advise management on mitigation strategies.
n
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, client groups, and Finance colleagues to understand business needs and deliver an integrated service.
n
- Process Improvement & Financial Governance: Lead continuous improvement across financial systems and operations while staying up to date with regulatory changes, industry trends, and management requests.
