Data Modellerand Analyst

- Conceptual, logical (EntityRelationship) and physical data modelling.
n
- Data models review with both IT andbusiness audiences, communicating how the model meets requirements of bothexisting projects and the overall information architecture and strategy andany relevant deficiencies and gaps.
n
- UML modelling using all of the following:n n
- Activity diagrams
n
- Component and package diagrams
n

n
- Analyse and translate currentapplication and data landscapes and future business requirements intodetailed logical data models.
n
- Robust metadata management(technical and business), incorporating metadata practices into all modellingactivities.
n
- Analysis of source system includingdatabase structures, semi-structured and unstructured data stores.
n
- Understanding and assessment of sourcesystem schemas; table structures and relationships, primary / foreign keys,indexing, etc.
n




- Determining reference data domainsand ranges and relationship to transactional data.
n

n

Data mapping and transformation

n

n
- Mapping of source data elements totarget models and data schemas using detailed logical data models.
n
- Ability to work with source systemSMEs to determine correct mappings, transformations and gaps.
n
- Analysis and documentation ofsource to target data lineage.
n

Data Discovery and Data QualityAssessment

n

n
- Detailed analysis of source systemdata structures and content to assess "fitness for purpose".
n

n

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

n

n
- Experience in data analysis andmodelling against transactional and analytical systems.
n
- Experience in the use of datamodelling tools and the management of data modelling repositories andsolutions.
n
- Experience in using data profiling,using both automated tools and hand coded SQL to determine data qualitymetrics, constraints, etc.
n
- Experience in the delivery of largescale, information management, information governance and analytics solutions
n
- At least 5 years of data modellingand analysis experience.
n
- Business communication skills.
n
- Working knowledge of largeenterprise relational database management systems comprising of traditionaldatabases (MS SQL Server, Oracle) and cloud based platforms and solutionswithin AWS.
n
- Working knowledge of datagovernance frameworks, processes and technologies such as data catalogues andbusiness glossaries.
n

n

Work Experience: 10+ years with domain expertise.
