We support clients across the mining, oil & gas, marine, food & beverage and industrial sectors, delivering high-quality surface treatment solutions throughout Western Australia.

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our Forrestdale workshop.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand or Workshop Manager with a fabrication, coatings, manufacturing or industrial services background who enjoys leading teams and driving operational excellence.
n
About the Role:
n
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of workshop operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved.
n
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend time both in the office and on the workshop floor, providing guidance, mentoring staff and maintaining efficient workshop operations.
n
You will lead a team of approximately eight employees while driving continuous improvement across productivity, quality, safety and customer outcomes.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
- Lead and supervise daily workshop operations
n
- Coordinate production schedules, workflow and labour allocation
n
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule
n
- Supervise stainless steel pickling, passivation, rinsing and finishing processes
n
- Maintain QA/QC standards, inspections and documentation
n
- Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
n
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company procedures
n
- Monitor workshop performance, KPIs and productivity
n
- Coordinate workshop maintenance and equipment readiness
n
- Manage consumables, PPE and chemical inventory
n
- Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development
n
- Liaise closely with Operations and Administration teams
n
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
n
n
About You:
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Trade qualification/experience in the Fabrication, coatings, production or relevant industry experience (preferred)
n
- Previous experience as a Workshop Manager, Supervisor, Leading Hand or similar leadership role
n
- Strong knowledge of operations, production planning, scheduling and leadership in a workshop environment
n
- Experience/knowledge within the stainless-steel fabrication, industrial processing, coatings or related industries
n
- Sound understanding of QA/QC systems and workshop documentation
n
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
n
- Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
n
- Experience managing KPIs, productivity and team performance
n
- Forklift Licence (essential)
n
- Confined Space & Working at Heights (essential)
n
- EWP, Dogging/Rigging and White Card (desirable)
n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and job management systems
n
- Full Australian working rights
