Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Switchboard Electrician ready to take the next step into a Leading Hand position.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has strong experience building low-voltage switchboards and is confident guiding others, organising workshop activities and maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

n

You will remain actively working on the tools while also taking responsibility for helping coordinate the workshop, supporting other team members and keeping projects on track.

n

The Role

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Building and wiring low-voltage electrical switchboards
n
- Reading and working from electrical drawings and schematics
n
- Fitting electrical components and switchboard equipment
n
- Busbar fabrication and assembly
n
- Organising and coordinating day-to-day workshop tasks
n
- Assisting and guiding apprentices, trade assistants and other workshop staff
n
- Checking completed work for quality, accuracy and compliance
n
- Identifying and resolving issues before they impact project timelines
n
- Working closely with management to ensure projects are completed on time
n
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
n

The Candidate

n

We are looking for someone who has:

n

n
- Minimum5 years' experiencein switchboard building or a similar electrical workshop environment
n
- Strong practical knowledge ofswitchboard assembly, busbar fabrication and wiring
n
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
n
- A strong eye for detail and quality workmanship
n
- Good communication and organisational skills
n
- The confidence to guide and support other team members
n
- A hands-on approach and willingness to remain on the tools
n

PreviousLeading Hand or Supervisory experiencewill be highly regarded; however it is not essential. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Switchboard Electrician who is ready to take the next step in their career.
