The Data Unit

The Data Unit is an interdisciplinary team focused on improving how the public sector uses evidence to make better decisions and policy. We work collaboratively with a broad range of agencies to address complex social, health, environmental and economic challenges facing Western Australia. Our work supports better strategy, operations and service delivery across government.

About the Role

This is an engaging and varied job that works across agencies, assists with ever changing problems, where you might show up to work in different offices.

As part of this role, you will:

- Design and develop AI technology solutions that solve government problems,
- Communicate technical information simply to many different audiences, and
- Maintain awareness of recent developments in AI and support stakeholders to realise its benefits.

We are looking for people with experience in AI, data engineering or technology. You don’t need years of experience behind you, but you do need to be curious and adaptable, with solid technical foundations and the appetite to keep building and learning.

You will join a talented interdisciplinary team with data, technical and policy expertise that will support you to build your capability and succeed in the role.

DPC is primarily involved in:

providing administrative support to the Premier

providing administrative policy advice and support to the Ministerial Offices and the Leader of the Opposition

the promotion of Western Australia's interests overseas

the communication of Government policies and activities

the administration of entitlements for Members and former Members of Parliament

management of the State occasions and official visits program

providing a secure,



confidential and time-critical printing and publishing service for Parliament and Government

management of exhibitions and programs at the Constitutional Centre
