SWIFT Payments Officer - initial 6-month contract

Exceptional SWIFT Payments Officer opportunity available on an initial 6m contract basis with a leading US global financial services firm.Our client is seeking an experienced payments & treasury operations professional to join its Global Payments & Treasury Operations function on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility for extension.

This opportunity supports high-volume institutional payment processing and daily cash movements, and is best suited for an applicant with SWIFT, Austraclear with both AUS and International global payments experience.

n

About the Opportunity:

n

You'll be working as part of a cooperative operations team, supporting end-to-end payment processing, settlements, reconciliation activities, and transaction investigation work across multiple systems and applications.

n

This role will suit someone who enjoys structured, process-driven work, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

n

- Processes funds transfer or settlement instruction in accurate and timely manner to ensure adherence to payment cut off time and SLA.
n
- Escalate issues as needed. Investigates differences in cash processing and performs settlements and reconcilements.
n
- Monitors payment processing applications.
n
- Reviews and validates payments submitted through various methods (e.g., wire, account). Monitors and flags issues that arise with payment mechanisms and performs production validation.

- Researches and resolves complex transactional related inquiries.
n
- Adheres to and completes regulatory and compliance monitoring and reporting, as required.
n
- Serves as an escalation point for data processing issues and provides input on quality improvement process.
n
- Responsible for the quality and completion of own work and support the actional tasks assigned by senior team member or manager.
n
- Participates in business initiatives including new projects. Perform user acceptance testing as required.

Skills & Experience

n

n
- High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, bachelor's degree preferred.
n
- Several years of experience in financial services or payment processing role preferred.
n
- Good communication, organizational teamwork, interpersonal skills are essential.
n
- Knowledge of local payments systems (ie. Austraclear), as well as SWIFT payment system preferred.
n

This position is best suited to applicants that are AUS Citizens or AUS PR, as this position is likely to extend beyond the initial 6m contract duration.
