Little Wave Scarborough is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team.

Located on The Esplanade in Scarborough, Little Wave is a neighbourhood café and wine bar with a strong Mediterranean influence, inspired by the food, culture and hospitality of France and Italy. We offer an all-day dining experience that moves from breakfast and coffee through to lunch, dinner and evening wine, with a focus on fresh produce, handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients and vibrant, flavour-driven dishes.

The Role

n

We are looking for a Chef who is confident working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes genuine pride in producing high-quality food consistently. You will play an important role in maintaining our existing food standards while also contributing ideas and creativity to our evolving seasonal menu.

n

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Mediterranean and European cuisine, excellent preparation and cooking skills, and the ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy service.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes across breakfast, lunch and dinner service
n
- Maintain consistency, presentation and portion control across every plate
n
- Work closely with the kitchen and management team on seasonal menus and specials
n
- Demonstrate robust knowledge of fresh produce, pasta, seafood, meat and Mediterranean flavours
n
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
n
- Assist with ordering, stock control,



preparation and minimising food waste
n
- Lead by example and contribute positively to a professional kitchen culture
n
- Work efficiently during busy services while maintaining attention to detail
n
- Support and mentor junior kitchen team members where required
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who:

n

n
- Has proven experience as a Chef in a quality café, restaurant, wine bar or similar venue
n
- Has strong knowledge of Mediterranean, Italian or European cuisine
n
- Is confident with fresh pasta, seafood, meat and seasonal produce
n
- Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
n
- Takes pride in presentation, flavour and consistency
n
- Is reliable, positive and works well as part of a team
n
- Can remain calm and organised under pressure
n
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality and good food
n
- Is creative and enjoys contributing new ideas to the menu
n
