Sargeant Transport is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our Ballarat workshop.

n

This is a hands-on role responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing trucks and trailers across our fleet. You'll work with a range of leading vehicle brands while helping maintain high standards of safety, reliability and compliance.

The Role

n

Reporting to the Ballarat Workshop Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Completing scheduled servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance
n
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
n
- Undertaking major repairs on trucks and trailers
n
- Carrying out vehicle inspections in line with manufacturer requirements
n
- Ensuring all work complies with NHVR and workplace safety standards
n
- Accurately completing job cards, service records and safety documentation
n




- Using diagnostic equipment and technical resources to identify faults
n
- Helping improve repair processes and minimise vehicle downtime
n
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Certificate III qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Technician or equivalent
n
- Experience servicing and repairing trucks and trailers in a fleet environment
n
- Experience working with brands such as Kenworth, Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Volvo and Mack
n
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
n
- Basic electrical fault-finding and welding experience
n
- A sound understanding of WHS and protected workshop practices
n
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
n
- The ability to accurately complete job cards and service records
n
- A current HR or HC driver's licence will be highly regarded
n

This is a physically active position that requires manual handling and heavy lifting.
