Technical Services Manager - Underground Hard Rock

Joblin Partners is proud to be partnering with a well backed Queensland metalliferous mining operation to recruit a Technical Services Manager.
The operation is entering an important phase of development and production, with considerable resource potential and future mining opportunities across both underground and open pit environments.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager and operating as a key member of the site leadership team, the Technical Services Manager will lead the Mining Engineering, Geology and Geotechnical functions across the operation.
Working closely with the Mining Manager and broader leadership team, this role will provide the technical direction required to support underground production, mine optimisation and the longer term development of the site.
The position will act as a key technical adviser to the General Manager and Director, with significant influence over Life of Mine planning, future projects and the broader strategic direction of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Technical Services function across Mining Engineering, Geology and Geotechnical disciplines.
- Drive technical excellence, continuous improvement and strong operational support.
- Work closely with the General Manager, Mining Manager and site leadership team to support safe and efficient mining operations.




- Provide technical and strategic advice across mine planning, resource development and longer term operational opportunities.
- Lead the preparation and ongoing refinement of monthly, annual and Life of Mine plans and schedules.
- Support mine optimisation, resource and reserve development, budgeting and strategic planning.
- Develop longer term mine and project pipelines to support sustainable growth.
- Ensure Technical Services activities comply with relevant mining health and safety legislation, Acts, Regulations and site requirements.
- Identify operational and technical risks and work collaboratively with site leadership to develop practical solutions.
- Mentor and develop technical personnel across the department.

About You

- Demonstrated success leading Technical Services teams within underground metalliferous mining.
- Strong underground hard rock mining experience, ideally with open pit exposure.
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong experience across mine design, scheduling, resources and reserves, Life of Mine planning and budgeting.
- Sound knowledge of relevant mining health and safety legislation, Acts and Regulations.
- Solid leadership and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to longer term operational strategy.
