Cannon Hill Anglican College is a flourishing, co-educational, independent school that caters for 1355 students from Prep to Year 12, with a team of over 200 dedicated staff. The Role

The College is seeking applications from suitably experienced and qualified professionals to lead our well established and highly regarded Performance Music Program. This full time, position commences in Term 1, 2027.

The Head of Performance Music is responsible for the ongoing delivery and enhancement of the College’s Performance Music Program and works collaboratively with the Head of Faculty - The Arts in the natural areas of overlap of curricular and co-curricular music activities. The Head of Performance Music will provide effective and supportive leadership to Performance Music Staff to support the ongoing enhancement and effective delivery of the Program.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

Demonstrated success in leading and developing a high-quality Performance Music program within a co-educational school environment, including strategic planning, program innovation, student engagement, and the achievement of excellence in musical performance outcomes.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Education and Music, current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT), and a proven record of exemplary classroom teaching practice across relevant year levels.

Extensive knowledge of contemporary music education and performance practices, with the ability to lead, develop and evaluate curriculum and co-curricular music programs that foster student participation, achievement and a lifelong appreciation of music.

Highly developed interpersonal, communication and relationship-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective partnerships across all College communities, including students, staff, parents, alumni, and external music stakeholders.

High-level proficiency in the use of ICT systems and digital technologies relevant to music education, administration, performance management, scheduling, reporting, communication and resource coordination within a contemporary school setting.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets, staffing, resources, events and operational requirements associated with a significant co-curricular program,



ensuring responsible stewardship of College resources and alignment with strategic priorities and organisational objectives.
