About the role
n
As Events Coordinator, you will coordinate a dynamic portfolio of Council events and programs, working collaboratively with internal teams, community organisations, government agencies, suppliers, contractors, volunteers, sponsors and media partners.
n
n
- Salary $98,182.78 to $113,892.48 p/a (pro-rata) + super *
n
- Job Share Opportunity: Temporary part time position (14 hours per week) - Up to 28 January 2028
n
- Lead the planning and delivery of a diverse program of community, cultural, civic and corporate events
n
n
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
n
n
- Leading the delivery of major Council events including community, cultural, civic and seasonal events, from planning through to evaluation.
n
- Developing new opportunities to activate Ku-ring-gai, including creating an annual new event that responds to community interests.
n
- Building partnerships and securing funding through sponsorships, grants and strong relationships with community, corporate, arts and government organisations.
n
- Coordinating event marketing and promotion with Council's Communications Team, media partners and other stakeholders.
n
- Leading and supporting event teams, including staff, volunteers, contractors and suppliers, to deliver safe, high-quality events.
n
- Managing event planning, budgets, risk and reporting,
including maintaining a Council-wide events calendar and providing advice and reports to Council and senior management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
n
n
- Extensive experience in events, with a proven track record delivering community and/or corporate events.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in event management or a related field, plus a current Class C Driver Licence.
n
- Strong event management skills, including budgeting, risk assessment, evaluation and the coordination of staff, volunteers and contractors.
n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, lead teams and deliver outstanding customer service.
n
- Experience in marketing, social media and public relations, with the ability to promote events and engage diverse audiences.
n
- A solid understanding of sponsorship and partnerships, with demonstrated ability to identify funding opportunities and build relationships with corporate, community and government stakeholders.
n
