Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced High Voltage and Switchgear Technician to join our Engineering Services team.

n

This position would suit a capable technician with practical experience servicing, maintaining and testing HV and LV switchgear within industrial or high energy environments.

The Role

n

You will undertake servicing, maintenance, testing and fault finding across HV and LV electrical equipment on industrial and commercial sites.

n

The role includes field based technical work, preparation of test documentation and interaction with clients and site representatives.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Servicing and maintaining HV and LV switchgear
n
- Testing cables, circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers and motors
n
- Primary injection testing
n




- Insulation resistance, contact resistance and associated electrical testing
n
- Switchgear inspections, cleaning, servicing and functional testing
n
- HV switching and isolation activities
n
- Fault finding and troubleshooting
n
- Interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
n
- Preparing technical reports and test documentation
n
- Working safely in accordance with Nilsen and client procedures
n
- Liaising with clients and site stakeholders
n

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

n

n
- Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence
n
- Current CPR and LV Rescue certification
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Current Driver Licence
n
- Experience maintaining and testing HV or LV switchgear
n
- Experience working in industrial, mining, utility or high energy environments
n
- HV switching accreditation, or willingness to obtain it
n

Desirable Experience

n

n
- Secondary injection and protection relay testing
n
- Primary injection testing
n
- Transformer and cable testing
n
- Experience with Omicron or similar test equipment
n
- Familiarity with Schneider, ABB, Siemens or SEL equipment
n
- Strong fault finding and troubleshooting capability
n
