Job Description

Reporting directly to the owner, the Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of livestock, pastures, cropping activities, staff, infrastructure, and farm operations. You will lead all aspects of the farming operation and oversee a herd of approximately 1,000 purebred Angus breeding cows.

Key responsibilities

- Managing the farm's purebred Angus breeding herd
n
- Planning and overseeing fodder production and cropping operations
n
- Implementing pasture management and grazing programs
n
- Managing and supervising farm staff and contractors
n
- Maintaining farm infrastructure, including fencing, water systems, yards, roads, machinery, and sheds
n
- Overseeing maintenance and operation of vehicles and farm equipment
n
- Managing relationships with livestock, agronomy, veterinary, financial, and other specialist advisors
n
- Monitoring farm performance and contributing to operational planning and budgeting
n

About you

- At least five years' experience managing a commercial livestock enterprise
n
- Experience with cropping and fodder production programs
n
- Proven staff leadership and management skills
n
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities
n




- Sound machinery operation and maintenance knowledge
n
- Practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach
n
- A commitment to animal welfare, safety, and sustainable farming practices
n
- A valid driver's licence and chemcert
n
- A solid work ethic and positive attitude

- Wages of $110,000–$130,000, commensurate with skills and experience
