Join our client, a vibrant Tier 2 civil contractor in the greater Townsville area, known for top-notch infrastructure projects like highways, roads, water and wastewater systems, mining infrastructure, and more.

As a Senior Civil Supervisor, you'll be a key player in our client's projects, reporting to the Operations Manager/Project Manager. We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for excellence, and a commitment to health, safety, environmental, and financial success. You'll be the go-to person on the ground for our projects.

Responsibilities

- Lead and conduct risk assessments, documenting all tasks effectively.
n
- Keep a close eye on site activities to ensure they meet safety standards.
n
- Use consultative methods to tackle HSEQ issues on site.
n
- Make sure all traffic management plans, permits, and authorizations are sorted before any work starts.
n
- Build good relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project management teams.
n
- Streamline work schedules for better time and resource use.
n
- Guide and inspire teams to get the best results.
n
- Foster innovation to find cost-saving efficiencies or material gains.
n
- Spot risks and ensure corrective actions are taken.
n
- Handle hiring, assessing, and supervising team members or subcontractors as per contracts and project needs.
n




- Work with construction/project managers to plan and organize tasks.
n
- Read and interpret plans to ensure the work stays on track.
n
- Plan work and personnel to keep projects moving smoothly.
n
- Handle all necessary project paperwork, like timesheets, daily logs, and incident reports.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Cert IV in Civil Construction / Site Management or similar.
n
- Hold a QBCC Site Supervisor Licence.
n
- White Card holder.
n
- At least 5 years of experience in civil construction, roads, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
n
- Solid experience as a tradesperson, leading hand, or civil site supervisor.
n
- Skilled in understanding complex engineering drawings and specifications.
n
- Good grasp of local building codes, state rules, and environmental standards.
n
- Experience in managing site logistics, overseeing subcontractor teams, and operating heavy machinery.
n
- Knowledgeable in creating site safety plans, conducting risk assessments, and implementing hazard controls.
n
- Capable of managing project timelines and keeping senior stakeholders in the loop.
n
