Due to increased demand, Hydramech have positions for full-time trade qualified Fitters & Turners in our West Kalgoorlie workshop.

The Role:
n
Hydramech service and repair hydraulic cylinders & components for underground mining machinery. We have a variety of in-house processes including fitting, manual lathes, borers, milling, and CNC machining. We embrace technology and use quality tooling.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
n
n
- Carry out fitting duties as required.
n
- Carry out grinding of shapes and metal parts.
n
- Install & align assemblies and subassemblies to equipment as directed.
n
- Operate manual machining equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
n
- Competent in interpretation of diagrams, drawings, specifications & plans.
n
- Manufacture and modify components to engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances.
n
- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, milling, keyway cutting and other machining operations.
n
- Control material and monitor waste.
n
- Carry out production duties in the machine shop as directed.
n
- Mentor / assist apprentices & employees as required.
n
- Communicate equipment and tooling needs to the Leading hand.
n
- Measure parts and create drawings as required.
n
- Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery and performing regular maintenance.
n
- Ability to set a good example to employees with sound technical knowledge, good work ethics, and a high level of conduct in the workplace.

Essential Criteria to be considered for the positions:
n
n
- A Recognised Trade Certificate or other relevant trade qualification.
n
- Demonstrated experience with fitting & machining in a workshop environment.
n
- Current WA drivers licence.
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol test.
n
n
