Description

Buckland is a quality provider of Aged Care services situated in Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains NSW. We are a well-established non-for-profit organisation and are well respected in our community.

Currently we are seeking highly motivatedcasual Catering Assistantsto join our team on a casual basis.Candidates must be available to work 6:30am - 3:00pm or 2:00pm - 8:00pm and be available to work any day of the week.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

- Assisting the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients (food and beverage)
- Serving of resident meals
- Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation are according to standards of WHS and hygiene standards
- Use of the commercial dishwasher to wash cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes
- General kitchen cleaning and sanitizing according to daily cleaning schedule
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
- Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to kitchen area
- Completing required documentation and reporting




- Adhering to WHS requirements including the secure storage and use of chemicals and equipment.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Have experience working in cooking and food preparation
- A knowledge of safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working environment
- Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
- Have strong organisational and time management skills
- Be proactive, flexible, able to show initiative and effectively work as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Understands the need for privacy & confidentiality
