Retail Manager – Exciting Retail and Dining Destinations

The Retail Manager is responsible for management of a range of retail and commercial assets for the Golden Age Group including Sky One Plaza and the Sky Square in the heart of Box Hill retail core.

Key responsibilities

Act as the landlord's day-to-day representative for retailers; build strong, commercially productive relationships across the tenancy mix

Support leasing on renewals, current deals, rent commencement, trading obligations and lease compliance

Monitor tenant trading performance, sales reporting, opening hours and trading covenants, and address underperformance or non-compliance

Manage arrears in conjunction with finance and legal, including negotiation and escalation

Ensure compliance with the Retail Leases Act 2003 (Vic), Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), Building Act 1993 (Vic), Owners Corporations Act 2006 (Vic) and relevant planning permits

Manage insurance claims, incidents and public liability matters

Coordinate owners corporation and shared-facility matters where the centre forms part of a mixed-use scheme

Work with marketing to develop and deliver the centre marketing plan, campaigns and activations within the marketing fund budget

Champion centre presentation, customer amenity and community engagement

Manage relationships with the landlord/owner, council, utilities, adjoining occupiers,



car park operators and residential/commercial neighbours

About you

Minimum 5 years' experience in centre management, retail property management or a closely related asset management role

Sound working knowledge of the Retail Leases Act 2003 (Vic) and Victorian commercial leasing practice

Strong understanding of OH&S;, essential safety measures and building compliance obligations

Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hold a firm commercial position while maintaining relationships

Highly organised, self-directed and comfortable managing competing priorities across operations, leasing and compliance

Tertiary qualification in property, business, commerce or a related discipline (desirable)
