Department of Housing and Public Works
Queensland
At the Department of Housing and Public Works, we deliver services and programs that improve the lives of Queenslanders through housing assistance, homelessness support, public works, procurement, infrastructure delivery and youth engagement.
We play a key role in building stronger communities, supporting economic growth and delivering critical infrastructure across Queensland, including in the lead-up to Brisbane 2032.
As Executive Director, Frontline Delivery, you will lead the delivery and transformation of Queensland's frontline housing and homelessness services. This is a unique opportunity to influence statewide service delivery, drive innovation and reform, and ensure vulnerable Queenslanders have access to secure, responsive and sustainable housing solutions.
Working closely with senior executives, government agencies, community housing providers and non-government stakeholders, you will provide strategic leadership across a complex operating environment while overseeing the delivery of critical frontline services that support some of Queensland's most vulnerable communities.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading the strategic direction and transformation of Queensland's housing and homelessness services, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that respond to current and emerging community needs.
- Providing executive leadership of frontline housing and homelessness operations across Queensland, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality service delivery and consistent outcomes.
- Driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across Housing Service Centres, Housing Hubs and homelessness outreach services to enhance customer outcomes and service effectiveness.
- Building and maintaining high-level partnerships across government,
community housing and support sectors to deliver coordinated and integrated responses to housing and homelessness challenges.
- Fostering a high-performing and cutting-edge culture that strengthens organisational capability, accountability and resilience while delivering lasting outcomes for Queenslanders.
The ideal candidate will bring
- A demonstrated record of success leading large, complex organisations and delivering significant operational and strategic outcomes.
- Extensive experience leading the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs, services and policy initiatives aligned with government priorities.
- Proven capability in managing complex stakeholder relationships and partnerships across government, community and service delivery sectors.
- The ability to demonstrate accountability, integrity and agility in a complex environment, consistent with the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
The Department of Housing and Public Works delivers a range of housing, building and procurement services.
We work to ensure that our most in need Queenslanders have access to housing and homelessness assistance. This assistance is provided through government-owned and managed social housing, and grant funding to registered providers. We also help thousands of low income earners to enter and remain in the private rental market.
Another key focus for the department is to provide policy, advice and delivery of services to government agencies in the areas of construction, asset and facilities management, procurement and fleet management.
The department consists of five major areas: Housing and Homelessness Services, Public Works and Asset Management, Building Industry and Policy, Queensland Government Procurement and Corporate Services.
